2006-12-17 - 5:05 p.m. Wheee. You know the furore over soy products supposedly being 'feminising'? Now, apart from the obvious - namely,
I gotta couple things to say, as I always do! 1 - My first response is a titter. Heehee. Vegans are girly. They eat lots of soy. Vegan men often are this way because they've analysed society's consumption of animal products and reject it (unhealthy and/or oppressive), so even though there are many self-righteous vegan men, and there would be some who were misogynists, it sort of makes sense we'd see more men in the vegan population who analysed society's views on gender/sexuality and rejected them just as much (as they are equally or more fucked up than society's animal consumption [IMO] in many ways). Ergo, cry some folk, the vegans' beloved soybeans CAUSE gayness! 2 - The first time I had a specific soy product and all following similar experiences (eating tofu, putting rice milk on my corn flakes, etc) happened AFTER my first gay experiences (first "am I gay?", first kissykissy [A GAY ONE], first gaysexx0rz etc). Does this mean that whereas consumption of soy-based products cause homosexuality/gender-deviant tendencies in males, homosexuality/gender-deviant tendencies cause consumption of soy-based products in females? I THINK IT IS PRETTY OBVIOUS THAT THIS IS THE CASE. 3 - "Most babies are bottle-fed during some part of their infancy, and one-fourth of them are getting soy milk!" ... you would prefer the formula-fed babies are given a MEAT-BASED product? GROSS.
Personally, if you're worried about a base-food that is getting into too many of the processed foodstuffs, I would worry about CORN SYRUP and FAKE SUGARS. I'm not a nutritionist but they are still pretty fucked up. Random notes: |
